Disgusting.

That is all that comes to mind when I heard Cindy McCain unleash yet another low blow attack on Obama while stumping in Pennsylvania. Funny how the campaign that kept screaming “leave families out of it” when it came to very valid discussion of Palin’s teenage pregnant daughter and abstinence only teaching is now using their children as political pawns. Here’s part of Cindy’s screed:

The day that Sen. Obama decided to cast a vote to not fund my son when he was serving sent a cold chill through my body. I would suggest that Sen. Obama change shoes with me for just one day and see what it means … to have a loved one serving in the armed forces and more importantly, serving in harm’s way. I suggest he take a day and go watch our fine young men…and women deploy, get on those buses and leave with a smile.

Does Gold Lamé Cost This Much?

It was already enough of an insult that Republicans choose to start their convention on Labor Day, a holiday dedicated to working Americans (which the GOP used to attack unions and tout their out-of-touch economic policies). But then, Cindy McCain teetered out on stage earlier this week in an outfit that has been estimated to cost $311,000.

Really?

$311,000 is more than the total cost of most American homes. Take a moment to compare the size of your mortgage with the cost of this dress. Even for a beer-baron heiress and multi-millionaire like Cindy McCain, this is disgusting.

The Log Cabin Republicans have been touting the “moderate” record of John McCain following their endorsement (McCain opposes ENDA, hate crimes, immigration equality for same-sex partners, the repeal of DADT, adoption rights but supports multiple constitutional amendments to discriminate against LGBT Americans in marriage…you know, a moderate record). However, maybe LGBT Republicans are hoping that our community will be fooled into voting for McCain/Palin if Cindy McCain keeps invoking the lavish opulence of Evita.

Don’t Cry for Me, Arizona. It’s the same outfit!!! (even note the pearls)

How elitist and out-of-touch are the McCain’s? If its that easy to lose track of how many homes you have, then perhaps its easy to forget how much bank you drop on a dress that you’ll wear for one night. But, c’mon.

I did some comparison shopping online for hideous, gold lamé outfits. I don’t know about an Evita-inspired dress, but you can get these pants at American Apparel for $42.00. That’s a savings of $310,958.
